Changing iPad 2 Screen Brightness
There is a direct correlation between the brightness of your screen and the amount of time that a single battery charge will last. As you make the screen brighter, you will decrease the amount of time for which a single iPad 2 battery charge will last. Conversely, decreasing screen brightness will make it more difficult to see certain screen elements, but will also extend the amount of time that you can use your iPad 2 on one charge. The choice is up to you as to which is more important to you, but you can change the screen brightness of your device at any time using the instructions outlined below. Step 1: Touch the Settings icon on the Home screen of your iPad 2. Step 2: Tap the Brightness & Wallpaper option at the center of the column on the left side of the screen.
Step 3: Touch the slider at the top of the screen, then drag it to the left to decrease the brightness, or drag it to the right to increase the brightness.
The screen will automatically adjust as you move the slider, so you can get an idea as to how your adjustment is affecting the screen appearance. You will notice that there is also an Auto-Brightness setting that is turned on by default. This will sense the lighting environment in which the iPad is being used and adjust the screen brightness accordingly. Auto-Brightness will take your custom brightness settings into account, but will tweak your adjustments if you are in a high or low light environment.
