Why Google is not launching Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 pro in India
Among the various factors of not launching these in India ‘Supply crunch’ is the major one. As per the reports and the emailed statement, a Google spokesperson told the publication that the reason for not launching the Pixel 6 series in India is the supply crunch. He further added“Due to a variety of factors including global demand-supply issues, we are not able to make our products available in all markets. We remain committed to our current Pixel phones and look forward to bringing future Pixel devices to more countries in the future.”
Last pixel phone launched in India
The statement of not launching Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 pro in India did not come as a shock for the pixel fans this time. Reason being, Google hasn’t launched a pixel phone since 2018. Pixel 4a was the last phone launched in India. Google had decided against launching the Pixel 4 in India as the phone’s Soli radar hardware didn’t meet the guidelines for use in the country. The Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G were also not launched in India due to the non-availability of 5G networks. The eight regions where the Pixel 6 series will be initially launched are US, Canada, UK, Japan, Germany, Australia, France, and Taiwan. An analyst from IDC was quoted in the NDTV report saying that most Indians prefer specifications while buying phones, and the Pixel lineup has been under-specced till the Pixel 6 series. Further, 90 percent of the market in India is below Rs 20,000.
